Congratulations to Amy Behrends of the Shady Oaks Ranch in Texas and jockey Mitzi Mayes for their recent winnings of $500 and recent accomplishments aboard their Shawne Bug Leo 5 year old filly, NB Built to the Hilt! This mare won money in her first entered futurity at the Ultimate Texas Barrel Classic in January of 2017.
NB Built to the Hilt was raised here at NickelBar Ranch and sold to the Behrends through the Texas Best Barrel Futurity Sale in 2014 as a 2 year old. This mare was started by Stephan Boutin and has been under Stacey Grimes as well and now is being entered under Mitzi Mayes. These two continue to place and win in the 1D now and get better with each run. We are extremely proud of them and wish them much success.
